Folklore

Folklore is the authentic expression of a people that embraces its traditions, legends, customs, music, dances, etc. Precisely these peculiarities distinguish one culture from another.

In our country, due to its wide territory, geographical and climatic diversity, diverse cultures with different customs and traditions have developed throughout history, which persist in spite of European interference.

Peruvian folklore is probably the most varied and rich in South America. The coastal region consists of a Creole, mestizo, and indigenous influence. The mountain consists of two parts: an ethnic-autochthonous folklore and a mestizo born of the mix between peoples of the plateau and the Spaniards or other outsiders. Finally the Amazonian folklore is the least complex that stands out for the folklore of isolated Amazonian groups, some Andean ethnic groups that inhabited the Amazon, and one finally modern that is born of the mix of migrants of the coast and the mountain range towards the forest, and the contact with several other border regions.
