Madre de Dios is a Department of Peru that houses endless forests, sinuous rivers and abundant natural life. It is a reserve of flora and fauna, and a shelter of species in danger of extinction like the maned wolf and the marsh deer.

This region is home to native communities that promote ecotourism in one of the most biodiverse areas of the world such as Sandoval Lake, Valencia Lake, Manu National Park, Tambopata National Reserve and Bahuaja-Sonene National Park, the only Tropical wet savannah existing in Peru.

A must visit is the National Reserve of Tambopata, which has an area of 678,773 acres. Undoubtedly one of the best places to discover the Amazon, with one of the highest rates of biological diversity in the world (632 species of birds, 169 mammals, 1,200 butterflies).
